Rev.Com Review: Is Rev Com A Legit Company?

Rev

Rev.com is legitimate. A lot of people accuse the organization of being a fraud, but it is indeed legit as you will see in our Rev.com reviews.

Rev has excellent contacts with famous brands like Real Simple, Forbes, The New York Times, and more. Nobody, particularly high profile businesses, will like having a connection with someone or something that they believe to be a fraud.

The largest proof that Rev.com isn’t operating something shady is the fact that it provides genuine jobs.

Once again, it’s also important to note that the organization became a receipient of the PC Mg’s Editor’s Choice Award because of its outstanding contribution in the area of transcription.

An additional essential thing to mention is the fact that any organization involved in a scam would neither have a social media account or an actual business address.

Rev.com is very active in social media with countless followers. Furthermore, the company lists every info concerning them, such as their phone number and address.

These proofs are more than adequate to confirm that Rev.com is legitimate and it is genuine to its clients.

There is a ton of confusion as a result of the many bad reviews it has received. In fact, you will find a lot of noise about them having a really low pay rate, but this in an of itself doesn’t mean that the company is fraudulent.

How Much Do You Make With Rev As A Transcriptionist?

Rev

There’s no exact pay rate with Rev.com. You’re compensated based upon that which you do along with your general performance in it.

  • As a captioner or transcriptionist you can make as much as $0.4 to $0.75 per video minute or per audio minute.
  • Subtitlers are compensated $3-7 per minute
  • As a translator or writer, you can make approximately $0.4 to $0.5 per word.

The pay might not sound like a lot of money, but it can be a decent side income.

Just keep in mind that everyone employed by Rev isn’t compensated the same. How much you get might depend on elements like:

  • Speed & accuracy of typing
  • The amount of time used to finish the job
  • Work quality
  • Commitment ratio

These are the main reasons that determine how much you will get as a transcriber for Rev. Apart from these four; there are lots of additional factors which can determine your pay rates, such as the caliber and difficulty level of the audio or video assigned and the number of jobs offered at that time.

Reviews And Complaints

As I mentioned earlier, the majority of the bad reviews flooding the web are because of the low pay rates.

But people who grumble about the lower pay need to keep in mind you’re able to do the job within the comfort of your home, and you’ve got the freedom to set your own hours and work at your own pace. Not many other companies offer this.

Can You Actually Make Money On Rev As A Typist?

Rev is a legitimate method for you to earn money online and a great place to begin if you are seriously interested in a work-at-home way of life.

But you are going to need additional sources of earnings. The issue with online jobs isn’t always the pay/per hour or task. It is the downtime and inconsistency of work.

Is Rev Com Secure?

Rev.com is an excellent way to earn extra money online while staying at home. It offers legitimate work-at-home possibilities with modest pay and flexible working hours. It offers employment opportunities in the areas of translation and transcription. But if you want to own a business and be a CEO, this may not be for you.

How Do You Apply At Rev?

Rev

The applications to Rev are open to everyone regardless of their respective geographical place.

The business hires offline and online freelancers for transcribing tasks. Taking into consideration the company’s reputation, Rev.com uses an arduous application process.

The entire application process could last for as much as an hour and you might likely have to take a wide variety of tests in order to be considered as a qualified applicant.

Rev conducts a three-round selection method whereby you are going to undergo testing to verify your transcribing, grammar, and typing abilities.

  • The very first round tests your typing abilities. Great typing skills are required to go to the next level. Here, you’ll be allocated 60 seconds in which you’ve got to type as many words as you can. You’ll be evaluated on the speed and accuracy of your typing. After you pass this round, you are going to move to the next round—the grammar check.
  • The next round is a grammar examination whereby you’ll have video or audio recording that you will have to write down with no grammatical mistakes. Great grammar and punctuation abilities based on the style guide are the main qualities to pass this round.
  • The last and the most crucial round within the selection process is the transcription test. With this round, you’ll have audio with two speakers. Your task is going to be distinguishing between the two speakers and noting down what each one of them is saying.
  • The main advantage with this round is the fact that there’s absolutely no deadline. Nevertheless, it’s far better to finish the test quickly since, with time, the number of competitors goes up.

Once the submission of the application is made, in one to two business days, you are going to receive an email coming from Rev.com telling whether you passed the test or not.

If you failed, you could try again after 45 days. How Do You Apply At Rev?

Is Rev A Scam?

Rev work from home jobs are not a scam. If you are a person who has lots of free time, you can try it out.

It is entirely possible to build a profitable, successful online work-at-home business.

And unlike Rev.com, it actually provides real proof of real success from real people as recently as a few days ago.

Can You Make Money With Rev.Com?

Rev

You can certainly make money with Rev.com, but if you’re gonna put in the amount of grueling work to become a transcriptionist (which, trust me, isn’t easy), you might as well bring in some REAL money.

The program that helped skyrocket my online business to $40,000+ per month teaches some of the same type of skills, but shows you how to monetize them in a much, MUCH more profitable way.

  • What Is Our Top Recommendation For Making Money Online In 2022?
  • Our review team has come across a program in the real estate industry that is next level!
  • Although it’s not real estate in the traditional sense, it’s all digital.
  • Where Rev.com fall short is in scalability.

You can’t realistically expect to be able to work all hours of the day from home doing cheap little surveys… you’d run out of time.

But what if you leverage it?

Rev

With this digital real estate program, you will be getting clicks from multiple sites at every minute of the day and never have to pick up a phone once!

  • Sound too good to be true?
  • Of course it does!
  • But it isn’t…in fact, business owners wish they had this skill!

All you have to do is build and rank a website and forward the jobs off to a business owner in town, you could even email it to them!

This works for literally any service based business, tree service, plumbing, towing, etc.

How do you get paid and how much?

Rev

Simple, after you forward the jobs off to a business owner and he makes some money off of them, you simply ask to make the deal beneficial for each other.

A fair price to charge per lead, depending on the industry is 10-20%…let’s just use the tree service industry for example and go by worst case scenario.

  • Let’s say you build and rank the site and only 10 jobs a month come in. The average tree service job is anywhere from $500-$2000!
  • That means at bare minimum you have an asset worth $500 a month!
  • See why they call it digital real estate now?

The great thing is how easy it is to scale. You don’t have to answer the phone…all you have to do is get the phone to ring.

Remember Rev.com doesn’t really offer huge profit margins, right?

Rev

This one actually allows you to collect big sums without being on the internet all day.

The training program takes making money online to a whole other level. The owner of the program walks you through how to build and rank a site hand in hand, with the occasional voice over when he is sharing his screen.

You will learn the importance of keywords, website name, how to send call notifications via email, backlinking, etc.

Once the training program is completed you will also have access to a Facebook group that is so much better than any of the groups you’ll find for other models in our opinion.

Unlike Rev.com, where you’re just a slave to time…these websites turn into your employees and they work 24/7. A business will always want more leads and another job. In fact it doesn’t even matter that the job isn’t coming from their website name…they see it as it is…expanding digital real estate.

Rev Transcription Review

Rev

I have been a Rev.com customer for over a year now. When I started taking my YouTube channel seriously in the fall of 2017, I needed someone to caption those videos. Fast and affordable were at the top of my priority list. Rev.com offers both of those things.

Affordable: I only pay $1.25 per minute for the captioning my videos. No surprises. When placing my order, the website automatically calculates the price based on the file length.

Fast: My YouTube videos are usually 10 to 20 minutes in length. Once I place the order and pay, I usually have my caption file delivered within a couple of hours. Many times within the hour. This is great for those of us working with tight deadlines or who just like things completed and marked off the to-do list.

Quality: You are likely concerned about the quality at those rates. And as someone who is knowledgeable of the other side of the coin – the contractors they hire – many of these people are beginner transcribers. But Rev.com does have a few quality assurance things in place that I really appreciate as a customer.

The Rev Application Process

Rev

What’s the application process like?

The application is meant to give the freelancer a taste of what working for Rev is like. After a test on grammar and English writing conventions, we give each applicant a short guide on best practices while transcribing audio. Finally, we provide a sample audio file to transcribe using our custom-built Rev Transcription Editor, which helps them format their transcript and includes built-in spelling and grammar check.

How long do you keep resumes on file?

We do not collect resumes during the application, only name and email. We will keep these records so that people can re-apply after a 45 day period.

What timeframe can be expected from acceptance to first paycheck?

We pay via PayPal every Monday. Once you are accepted with Rev there is a basic tutorial that takes about 30 minutes to complete. As soon as you complete the tutorial you can claim your first real transcription job and start making money. Most Revvers get paid on their very first Monday!

Both! Once a freelancer joins Rev, they have access to our job marketplace, which is just a constantly updating list of audio files that need transcription. You can work as little or as often as you would like.

If you need to take a vacation, great! Your account will be waiting for you when you return. We also have freelancers that will work for 8 hours or more a day. Unlike most full-time jobs though, you can work the hours that suit you. Take a 5-hour lunch break, or sleep in until 11 am.

There are some time requirements though, once you have claimed a job from the Rev marketplace there is a deadline that you must meet. This is to ensure that the customer receives their transcript without any delay.

Can you give us an average hourly pay or average pay range?

As with most skills, there is a learning curve. Learning how to use our tools to save time and selecting the right job for you can have a large impact on pay. That being said, fast typists typically earn between $8 – $15 per hour. Slower typists tend to earn less. However, every transcriptionist that continues with Rev does improve and increases their average hourly pay as they complete more transcriptions.

Any tips for applying?

Take your time and reread our provided Applicant Style Guide if you are uncertain about any conventions. There are no tricks but we do look for careful and diligent applicants.

Rev User Reviews

Rev

I’m always interested in hearing reviews from people who’ve actually tried certain work-from-home opportunities, especially when it’s a platform promising to provide contractors with consistent work.

One freelancer gave Rev a 3-rating (out of 5) on Indeed, stating that it was a good side job. This person said they made around $150 per week working for Rev, and it was a decent part-time gig. However, they couldn’t see themselves doing it full-time.

Others said it was a very flexible job, but the grading process was a bit strict. To be successful as a transcriptionist, being able to turn in accurate work is crucial. If you’re brand new to this type of work, it could be helpful to spend some time practicing and building your skills so you can keep up with Rev’s standards.

Summary

Rev

If you’re looking to start making money remotely from transcription work ASAP, Rev could be the perfect opportunity for you. You just need a computer, solid internet connection, good English grammar, and excellent typing speed.

Work is readily available, and you can set your hours by selecting only the jobs with deadlines that will work for you. While Rev would be best as a part-time job, you can use the site to improve your transcription skills to prepare for a full-time work-from-home opportunity and make money in the process.
